​Frank and Donna Bombaci

Frank’s parents, Ralph and Maria Bombaci purchased the farm in 1958. Frank and Donna had been working on the family farm before Frank (2nd generation) decided to take the reins in the year 2000. The farm is fully certified organic under the OGA certified operation and we trade under the name of Deep Creek Organics Dalmore - certification number 1298. We mainly supply our asparagus to BioDynamics Melbourne Market, also to Sydney and Brisbane.

Gate sales are always welcome to anyone. You cannot beat freshly harvested asparagus grown in the beautiful rich black peat soil of Dalmore-Koo Wee Rup region - absolutely gorgeous!!

What we love about asparagus is that it is easy to cook and is healthy for you too. I love to pickle and bottle asparagus and it’s great on the BBQ but adding it to an omelette is the best, especially when you have been cutting or packing in the shed all day it’s such a quick and easy meal.”

The asparagus plant is delicate and tough at the same time, the weather can prove to be quite challenging during the harvesting season. Luckily for us it recovers from the onslaught of hail and wind in a few days - not many vegetables can do that!

Frank and Donna have also become Approved Employers under the Pacific Seasonal Workers Program, which allows them to bring workers out from the Pacific Islands and Vanuatu to assist farmers with the workers.
