Meet the Chefs

Here, some of Australia’s leading chefs and food writers share their love for asparagus, their tips for preparing and cooking it, and their favourite asparagus recipes.

Chefs tell us they love featuring asparagus on their spring and summer menus. They enjoy showcasing this amazing vegetable in a diverse range of dishes, and find it marries with the flavours of many cuisines of the world. They also prize the seasonality of fresh Australian asparagus and find it is perfect for the fresh and tasty lighter dishes we are seeking during the warmer months.

Some prize luscious White Asparagus while others cannot go past flavoursome Green Asparagus. Purple Asparagus is sought after by adventurous chefs who love its sweet crispy flesh and unusual colour.
